Christoph Hinterhuber
The world of pixels seems boundless. The virtual network knows no horizon. Our eye looks while our hand rushes over keyboard and touchpad. Everyone surfs. We try to get to the bottom of things. And run the risk of getting lost. Christoph Hinterhuber is interested in this archaic, primordial task of the human eye. As in prehistoric times, when people left signs and symbols on rock faces, Christoph Hinterhuber creates reduced motifs intended to serve as orientation aids. Words, lines, and barcodes.
His high-tech conceptual art results from patiently deciding between remember-ing and saving, forgetting and deleting, between yes and no. Only at the end does the digital data file become a real object that we actually see. A digital signpost and pure, clear image of the destination.
